This quaint town of Nowhere County sits just off the I-95 highway and is quite a distance from any other signs of what used to be civilization. The road leading into town is several miles, which has helped keep it secluded over its long history. Still, the town consists of two stoplights and the remnants of only a few businesses, as well as a small section of old houses.

Travelling away from Fox Hollow and further from the interstate, visitors will find themselves deeper into the Appalachian country. Roughly five miles outside of town, the pavement turns to gravel that was hardly maintenanced. At the base of the mountain one will find a designated camping zone with a footpath that leads into the famous Appalachian Trail, where it can only be accessed on foot or bicycle.

There are only two highway exits in Nowhere County and one of them is for Grutton’s Inn and Campground. The rundown motel used to be a frequented spot for travellers, hosting a poorly maintenanced inground pool, free breakfast, and vending machines. Across the street is the spacious Campground, run by the same owner, where travelers could pay a fee to park their campers overnight.
